Two months into the state’s budget stalemate, politicians are taking their ideas directly to the voters this week at the Illinois state fair. Yesterday Governor Rauner roared in on his black Harley Davidson to talk about a property tax freeze and changes to the way Chicago Public Schools’ pensions are funded. Today’s known as Dem Day, so folks can expect to see a lot of Democrats in among the carnival rides and the cows. But how open are voters to the governor’s — or the Democrats’ — plans?
