A woman who has avoided deportation by living at a Chicago church has been told she must leave the country on or before Thanksgiving day. Francisca Lino has taken refuge inside Adalberto United Methodist Church in Humboldt Park since August. Now, Lino is suing federal officials with the claim that they deported her back in 1999 without due process. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would not comment on pending litigation. Lino’s lawyers hope the lawsuit will delay her removal order and allow her to leave the church without fear of arrest and deportation.
