About 30 million women and girls around the globe play soccer. About half are here in the US. As the Women’s World Cup heads to the knockout round, it’s likely many will tune in tonight to watch the U.S. women’s team play Nigeria. The game will be broadcast on prime time. Women’s soccer has come a long way. There are more teams in this years cup than ever before, but inequalities still persist off the field.
