On this day 20 years ago, shots were fired on peaceful protesters in Sarajevo and the brutal three-and-a-half-year war in Bosnia-Herzegovina had begun. Today, the country’s ethnicities remain largely divided, the political system is in shambles and the economy faces enormous challenges. Worldview speaks with Velma Sarić, founder of the Sarajevo-based Post-Conflict Research Center, about the war’s legacy and Bosnia’s future.
