On this installment of the Barber Shop Show, Chicago based musician and storyteller Shanta Nurullah joined host Richard Steele. Shanta is a member of the AACM (Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians). She also teaches Wiggleworms classes for young children at the Old Town School of Folk Music. She told us about how she became the "sister with the sitar". Then, we checked in with WBEZ’s Kathy Chaney. She’s been covering protests that have occurred in response to death of Laquan McDonald. Finally, we heard from 12 year old piano prodigy Joshua Mhoon. He’s just back from a music camp in Austria. The Barber Shop Show airs on Fridays and Saturdays at Noon on 91.1FM.
