Where Have Chicago’s Manufacturing Jobs Gone? And This Week’s What’s That Building

Manufacturing on Chicago’s South and West Sides kept whole communities squarely in the middle class. But when those jobs left in the 1960’s and 70’s, there was no plan to re-invigorate the neighborhoods or retrain the people.
