This month, the states of Indiana and Kansas both pledged to enact targeted divestment plans from companies working with the Khartoum government.
 
They became the eleventh and twelfth states to divest from Sudan …and eighteen other states are considering laws to divest.

Last week, the University of Illinois Finance Committee unanimously agreed to divest over 2 million dollars from four foreign corporations that do business in Sudan .

Daniel Millenson is the National Advocacy Director for the Sudan Divestment Task Force, it's a project of the Genocide Intervention Network.

He told Jerome how the divestment movement got rolling in the past few years.
