Ending the Violence in Darfur

More than 450,000 Sudanese have died since the conflict in Darfur began.

The genocide has displaced over 2 million people in Darfur alone.

The United Nations estimates that there are 4 million people in need of assistance as a result of the genocide.

Ruth Messinger is the president of American Jewish World Services.  

Her organization has raised more than 4.5 million dollars for the Sudan Relief and Advocacy Fund.  American Jewish World Services was a founding member of the Save Darfur Coalition.  One of the goals of the coalition is divestment in Sudan .

Ruth Messinger told Jerome where the Coalition stood on the divestment issue.
