Indonesia is home to some of the Earth's greatest environmental treasures. There's the Komodo national park is a UN World Heritage site and home to the worlds biggest lizard. Offshore there are massive coral reefs, and Indonesia is home to one of the largest re mai ning orangutan populations

The threats to the environment in Indonesia are much like the threats to the biodiversity of the Amazon, only with lots more islands.

The Nature Conservency works with people in Indonesia on curbing excessive logging, development and overfishing.

Rili Djohani is the Indonesia country director for the Nature Conservancy. She was in Chicago for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Nature Conservancy, and she told Jerome about the unique challenge of working on the environment in Indonesia.
