The Bush Administration believes the U.S. should accept radioactive material from other countries for reprocessing. To find out more, Jerome spoke with Andrew Griffith. He's the Acting Director for Recycled Fuel Development in the Office of Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Andrew was in the Chicago area, along with previous guest Dr. Ivan Oelrich, to observe a public hearing in Bolingbrook where DOE officials spoke about the proposal. A handful of scientists came to the hearing to question the purpose and practicality of the reprocessing. Some said the reprocessing is an expensive process that is not worth the cost or risks.
