Only 24 percent of children in Kenya attend secondary school, and only 2 percent attend higher institutions.  

The Sango Association is trying to increase those percentages.  Founded in Hoffman Estates , Illinois by Kenyan immigrants, the organization provides scholarships to deserving students in western Kenya .

Otieno Ochieng is Chair of Sango Association.  And Teresa Wasonga is Secretary of Sango Association.  

Teresa told me how the Sango Association got started.
