Cook County Clerk an Election Monitor in Bangladesh

SHARE Cook County Clerk an Election Monitor in Bangladesh

Last week, we talked about the recent parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. The military-backed government handed over power to longtime politician Sheik Hasina of the Awami League. Despite an entrenched culture of corruption, election monitors declared the process free and fair.

Incidentally, Cook County Clerk David Orr was in Bangladesh to observe the polls. How do we know? We got an email from his office. Orr, the top election official for Cook County, occasionally works with the National Democratic Institute as an election monitor. We invited him to our studios last week to tell us about his experience.
