St. Peter Port is the capital of Guernsey.

With the Irish economy receiving a bailout, the markets have become jittery about Portugal. Notre Dame University’s Robert Fishman worries the speculation may be overblown. Also, the tiny island of Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands, seems to be weathering the economic crisis even though its economy relies heavily on the financial services sector.  We’ll find out why this off-shore haven is doing so well from Bob Sherwood of the Financial Times. And film contributor Milos Stehlik reflects on the life and times of Italian filmmaker Mario Monicelli, who recently committed suicide at age 95.
