Today we speak with Jerica Arents and Mary Dean from Voices for Creative Nonviolence. They were recently in Afghanistan and Iran respectively. They’ll compare and contrast human rights conditions, education, health care delivery and infrastructure in those countries.  Also, recent revelations in the Wikileaks cables and the arrest of notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout have offered rare glimpses into the often-murky business of the small arms trade. We’ll talk with Hugh Griffiths, an arms trafficking expert with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, about the lucrative business and his efforts to curtail the trafficking of small arms to war-torn regions around the world.
