A Musical for Teenage Inmates

A new documentary chronicles a teen musical. But this isn't another iteration of the bubblegum teen flick High School Musical. The actresses in the film Girls on the Wall are serving time for charges like aggravated assault and battery, stealing cars and sexual assault at Illinois Youth Center Warrenville. To create it, the juvenile correctional facility for girls partnered with Storycatchers Theatre, which was founded by Meade Palidofsky. Heather Ross is the director and producer of Girls on the Wall, and she shares more about the young women she chronicled for the film.
