Richard Fammerée died on Thursday, May 5, of Lou Gehrig’s disease. The poet, composer and singer founded UniVerse of Poetry. The group’s mission is universal dialogue, compassion and peace.
On Sunday, May 15, members of UniVerse will gather at the Chicago Cultural Center to celebrate Fammerée. The ceremony won’t be traditional, which is fitting, because Fammerée was known for being a bit of a wanderer. A few years ago, he spoke to freelance radio producer Stanzi Vaubel.
