When Canasta released its debut album We Were Set Up in 2006, it was a hit with fans and critics alike. The band capitalized on that early success by playing shows and building a following. But four years and several line-up changes later, Canasta wasn’t out and about as much. And they hadn’t made another album. Was the band in the midst of a slow burnout? Maybe we should look to the title of their new album for insight. It’s called The Fakeout, The Tease and the Breather. They start with their song, “Mexico City.”
