On Friday, General Motors sent word to 1,100 dealers across the country that their franchises will be revoked by the end of next year. And on Thursday Chrysler announced the end for nearly 800 dealerships—44 in Illinois. The bloodletting is likely not over yet, as GM hopes to sell off its Saturn, Saab, and Hummer divisions.
