Chicago Klezmer Ensemble Plays at Home

Just as its name originates from a mixture of the Hebrew words “klay” and “zemer,” which combine to mean “vessel of song,” Klezmer music, which originates in ancient Israel, features a healthy dose of Romanian, Bulgarian, Polish, and Russian influences.

The Chicago Klezmer Ensemble has taken their global mission to heart, touring all over the world, from the famed Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to the historic Teatro Manzoni in Milan. But tonight, you can catch one of their rare home-town appearances at SPACE in Evanston.
