In Chicago writer Jamie Freveletti’s debut novel Running from the Devil she makes her protagonist, Emma, run for her life. When Emma’s airplane makes a crash-landing in the Colombian jungle, and her fellow surviving passengers are taken hostage, all bets are off. Freveletti recently spoke with Eight Forty-Eight’s Kristin Moo and shared an excerpt from the beginning of the novel.
