The Gray Lady took a dip this weekend into Chicago’s lively journalistic waters. A two-page spread of Chicago stories arrived deep within the Chicago printing of the New York Times’ A-section on Friday. And it was back on Sunday with more material produced by the new Chicago News Cooperative. The work by the non-profit co-op expands the Times’ Chicago presence, with a lot of help from some former Chicago Tribune reporters and editors. Laura Washington, a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, and Suzanne McBride, associate chair of the journalism department at Columbia College Chicago, analyze the new venture.Related:
