Eight Forty-Eight is pre-empted for a special episode of the World Vision Report. Summer tourism with a twist is the theme of Friday’s episode. In Nepal, the show follows a street vendor who sells an exotic musical instrument to support his wife and four children. If you’re in Shanghai this summer be sure to go see Peasant DeVincis. That’s an art exhibit of robots made by farmers. And the show discusses “poverty tourism” — tours through slums to see and experience how people live in much of the developing world.
Tune in Monday, Aug. 15 as Eight Forty-Eight kicks off a week of specials and rebroadcasts.
