When it comes to word matters, The Chicago Manual of Style is boss. That is according to devotees of the manual. The Manual has been around for more than a century.  The 16^th Edition is the latest and includes further updates for our electronic age. But proper Twitter citation aside, there are many interpretations of style. That’s what Eight Forty-Eight’s Alison Cuddy learned at WBEZ’s latest off-air event at the University of Chicago. Her panel included Chicago Manual of Style editors Carol Fischer Saller and Anita Samen.  Also on hand were Ben Zimmer of Visual Thesaurus and  vocabulary.com and Jason Riggle, who directs the Chicago Language Modeling Laboratory at the University of Chicago.
