We hear a lot about the people who have lost their homes to their lenders but not as much about the people left behind in the communities ravaged by foreclosures. They’re left in neighborhoods that slowly start to lose the color and vitality that neighbors bring. Sometimes blocks like thes are called “Ghost Blocks”. In this story from last year’s Facing the Mortgage Crisis series, WBEZ’s Ashley Gross and photographer Javier Ortiz visit a ghost block in the South Chicago neighborhood.
