They're left in neighborhoods that slowly start to lose the color and vitality that neighbors bring. Sometimes blocks like thes are called "Ghost Blocks". In this story from last year's Facing the Mortgage Crisis series, WBEZ's Ashley Gross and photographer Javier Ortiz visit a ghost block in the South Chicago neighborhood.
