The Cook County Board of Review is charged with the task of reviewing property tax assessments. If you don’t think your property tax assessment is fair, you can take your claim to the board for a hearing. There are three commissioners who essentially act as judges to decide whether or not to revise your assessment. The commissioners have wide latitude in making their decision.
