Every year, millions of monarch butterflies leave the cold of Canada for their winter homes in Mexico. And on their way there and back they pass over the Windy City. But this year, they’re sticking around through September 19. The flight of the monarch and the environmental and cultural connections they create are explored in a new exhibition. The show is put together by a Mexican conservationist group and has been touring Europe before making its U.S. premiere at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago. We talk with the museum’s vice president of exhibitions, Alvaro Ramos about the exhibition.
