Christmas is little more than a week away and that means some folks will wake up to find a warm and fuzzy gift under the tree: A puppy or a kitten! Sounds adorable but how practical a gift is an animal? And what about all our furry friends who don’t have a home for the holiday?
To find out how our city is managing animal control, “Eight Forty-Eight” spoke to Paula Fasseas. Fasseas is the founder of the city’s largest no-kill organization, PAWS Chicago.
Since opening its doors in 1997, PAWS has reduced the number of homeless dogs and cats killed annually by more than 50 percent.
