Searching for lost souls in 'The Tree of Life'

Terrence Malick may be a reclusive director, rarely seen or heard from but his films sure make a splash. Rumors started circulating about The Tree of Life  three years ago when it was first shot. It’s been described as the odyssey of a "lost soul in the modern world" and garnered both boos and a Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. To sort through the varied responses, Eight Forty-Eight was joined by Christy LeMaster. LeMaster is managing director of IFP Chicago, and runs the Nightingale Theatre in Chicago.

The Tree of Life opens up in Chicago Friday.

The People vs. George Lucas begins a limited run on Saturday at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago.
