Sox Win Pennant! 50 Years Ago today

The 1959 season was memorable not only because of Bill Veeck's ownership. The Sox had a pretty good team through the 1950s, but the decade was dominated by New York. The Yankees had eight appearances in the Fall Classic - winning six. But in '59 the stars aligned, and the South Siders won the American League pennant for the first time in 40 years. The season was filled with great drama, great play and great characters. Here to help us look back on the “Go-Go White Sox” is baseball writer and historian Paul Ladewski.
