Steve Dawson is a very busy guy. When he’s not playing in his band Dolly Varden, he’s teaching songwriting at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. When he’s not teaching, he records and produces other people’s music. Somewhere in between all of that, he’s hard at work on his solo musical project. Take his new album-I Will Miss the Trumpets and the Drums. Dawson got more than a dozen well-known locals to do guest turns on a bunch of songs. But most of the album is just him. Dawson says for as long as he can remember, he’s enjoyed working alone.CD Release Party:
