Steve Dawson is a very busy guy. When he’s not playing in his band Dolly Varden, he’s teaching songwriting at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. When he’s not teaching, he records and produces other people’s music. Somewhere in between all of that, he’s hard at work on his solo musical project.

Friday night, he’s performing at the Hideout in Chicago with some of the well known local musicians featured on his latest album I Will Miss the Trumpets and the Drums. Eight Forty-Eight talked with him last year and Dawson said that for as long as he can remember, he’s enjoyed working alone.
