United's 4th Quarter Loss

Yesterday the parent company of United Airlines announced $1.3 billion in losses in the fourth quarter. United also said it plans to cut 1,000 salaried and management positions this year. The company's losses can be traced to what is essentially a big gamble. Eight Forty-Eight business contributor David Greising says United's troubles go back to last summer, when oil prices were rising rapidly.
