Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley is of course hoping to bring the Olympics and the Paralympic Games to the Windy City in 2016. The US Olympic Committee is hosting its hall of fame induction ceremony today at McCormick Place. This will raise money for the local Olympic committee, which will find out in October whether the Windy City will get the games. Its acting chief executive, Stephanie Streeter, recently squashed other American cities’ goals to get an early start on a 2020 bid.
