WWII Vet Mike and Actor Mike Nussbaum Stars in Heroes

Ninety-one years ago today, Germany surrendered, men crawled out of their trenches and World War I was officially over. Originally known as “Armistice Day,” the holiday was expanded in 1954 to honor all veterans of our armed forces, living and deceased. This year, Mike Nussbaum is pulling a “double duty” of sorts. The famed Chicago actor is currently on stage in Heroes, playing a vet from World War I. But he's got quite a real tale to tell about his role in the ending of World War II.

On Stage:
Heroes
Remy Bumppo Theatre at the Greenhouse Theater Center
Through Nov. 29
