Rapper KaVonte’ Carthron was a wayward soul who was all about drugs, bling, gang-banging and getting’ paid. But now he raps under the name, Yah-Key, which translates to “God is the Key.” Yah-Key lays it down, bible and verse, on his new CD, Back Home. And although he sings of God and the gospel, he doesn’t care for labels like “Christian rapper” or “spiritual artist.” He considers himself an inspirational rapper, period. Yah-Key talks about his music and his path to faith.
