This Saturday if you’re in the mood to see a little shim-sham and step, shuffle, hop head on over to the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. Tap dancers from Chicago and all over will perform at the National Tap Day Festival. The events honor the Queen of Swing, Norma Miller, who at age 89 is still carrying on the tradition of the lindy hop. But tap dancers of all ages will perform on Saturday, including a group of very young students. We caught up with Reggio “the Hoofer” McLaughlin, the organizer, and his students at a recent rehearsal.

Reggio “the Hoofer” McLaughlin and his tap dance students will perform this Saturday at the National Tap Day Festival. It takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago’s Lincoln Square Neighborhood.
