Charleston County Sheriff Reflects On Shooting Of Walter Scott

Last April, a 50-year-old black man named Walter Scott was shot to death by a white police officer with the North Charleston Police Department. The story made national news after a video of the shooting surfaced.

Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon comments on policing now in the wake of Scott’s death. He tells Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson that both the police and the African-American community need to make changes in how they deal with each other.
