An American missionary was among those killed in the terrorist attack by al-Qaida militants in Burkina Faso last week. Michael Riddering, 45, moved with his family from Florida to Burkina Faso in 2011 to run an orphanage.

He leaves behind four children, including two he adopted in Burkina Faso.
