Al Jazeera America announced yesterday that its cable channel and digital operations will be ending. AJAM CEO Al Anstey said the decision was “driven by the fact that our business model is simply not sustainable in light of the economic challenges in the U.S. media marketplace.”
This comes as AJAM’s parent company Al Jazeera Media Network is expanding its digital operations. NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik discusses the reasons Al Jazeera America is shutting down with Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson.
