Activists Hold Citywide Conference To Address Missing Black Women, Girls
For the last several months, a group of young activists have been planning a citywide conference to address the issue of missing black women and girls in Chicago.
The conference is a follow-up to the “We Walk For Her” march organized last June, by a teenage girl who was afraid to walk to school after reports of six missing women and girls in Chicago that summer.
The “Girls Lead Conference 2019: #WeWalkForHer” will be held at Kennicott Park on Saturday, with workshops, a panel discussion and more.
Morning Shift talks to one of the advisers of the conference for more details.
GUEST: Tanisha Williams, program assistant of the Kenwood-Oakland Community Organization
