In 2007, Chicago’s Adler Planetarium teamed up with the University of Oxford in England to create “Zooniverse”, an outreach program joining citizen scientists with professional researchers working in several fields of study. 10 years and 100 projects later, “Zooniverse” has turned into the world’s biggest people-powered research platform, with 1.5 million amateur scientists discovering new planets, classifying new galaxies, and more.

Dr. Laura Trouille, Director of Citizen Science at the Adler talks about what the project has accomplished and what’s ahead for the next 10 years.
