For many struggling with anxiety or depression, seeing a therapist can be an effective method for combating symptoms of mental illness. Research shows that many people even favor talking about their mental health concerns over taking medication. But at what cost? As private counseling can cost in the hundreds of dollars for just for one session, it’s hard to weigh the benefits versus the burden of dolling out the cash. Perhaps until now, where a team of psychologists at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine have developed a free app that puts a therapist right in your pocket.
