Barack Obama high school not welcomed by all community members

Two weeks ago now, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced plans to build Barack Obama College Prep on the site of the old Cabrini-Green. There’s been a lot of conversation and controversy around building the school on the North Side, especially so close to Walter Payton College Prep. Community residents and parks advocates are now speaking out about concerns that the proposed location will take away much-needed green space in the area. DNAInfo reporter Paul Biasco updates on the details of the story, and Friends of the Parks president Cassandra Francis explains how this issue can also raise concern about the state of green space in the city.
