Morning Shift

Chicago Underground Film Festival

With so many forms of great art, the underground can soon become the above ground, which can translate to the “less cool”. But over its more than two decades of existence, the Chicago Underground Film Festival has retained its cool cred. The organizers admit some of the submissions are a touch less obscure than in the early days of the festival, but they still run the experimental gamut. CUFF Festival Director Bryan Wendorf and Festival Coordinator Emily Oscarsen look back at the history of the festival and share snippets from some of the films they’re most excited to screen this year.
