Chicago’s only female Mayor Jane Byrne dies

Chicago’s only female mayor has died at the age of 81. Byrne served from 1979 to 1983 - after one of the biggest election upsets in the city’s history. She’s credited for overcoming the machine, but her tenure was limited to one term. She was defeated by Mayor Harold Washington. We discuss her legacy and how she shaped Chicago politics.
