CPS Teachers Say What They Really Think Behind Closed Doors
Teachers spend their days talking at the front of a classroom, sending notes home with students, talking with parents about their children at parent-teacher meetings. They have to be available for impromptu meetings with the school principal or students. But what do teachers talk about when their pupils, their boss, and even parents aren’t around? Journalist Kim Bellware for Chicago magazine talked to 15 Chicago Public School teachers on conditions of anonymity about their jobs, their concerns, and their frustrations.
