Farm Bill negotiations move ahead as Congress faces critical deadline
Congress is facing a January deadline, and leaders from both the House and Senate Agriculture Committees continue to bang out negotiations. A primary sticking point has been funding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. Parties can’t agree on how much to cut from the program. NPR Congressional Correspondent Tamara Keith has been following the action from the Capitol and she has the latest on where the talks stand.
