From the mid 1970s to today, Marty Oberman has been a voice for reform, transparency and good government. During his time as alderman of the 43rd ward, he took on four mayors, including Richard J. Daley. Rahm Emanuel has appointed him to the Metra board to represent Chicago. The city council needs to approve the appointment when they meet on Wednesday.
