Government Shutdown Impacts Food Stamps, IRS, TSA And More

It’s the 18th day of the partial federal government shutdown, and with each day that passes, the nation and taxpayers feel more of an impact.

President Trump will address the nation about the shutdown and border security during primetime television Tuesday night. Earlier, he said the federal government could stay closed for months or even years.

Morning Shift has documented how the shutdown is affecting Chicago’s immigration courts and environmental remediation in Northwest, Indiana.

In this interview, host Jenn White takes stock of many of the other effects that the shutdown is having in Chicago and beyond.
