Last year, the 4,500 former NFL players who sued the league over head trauma won a $765 million settlement. But the judge decided it might not be enough to cover medical costs for everyone involved, so she rejected the settlement. Since then, things have begun to unravel for the plaintiffs. In order to protect themselves, groups of players have begun filing new suits that go beyond concussions and accuse team doctors of loading players up with shots and pills to mask injuries.
